Oh dear I had to look up how to spell it, – ‘stretching;’ \u00a0– I’m not talking here about rigorous callisthenics or anything Joe Wickes might get up to. No this is the simple pleasure in an idle moment of rotating your ankles or, (if \u00a0you’re built that way) doing up your laces with straight legs.<\/p>\n

If you do have time while the kettle’s boiling, work up from the feet, \u00a0I suggest travelling around your body to check it’s all still there \u00a0– that’s\u00a0some amazing machinery, most\u00a0of the time most of it’s working; and if that isn’t a reason to be cheerful what is?<\/p>\n

…Ps Don’t\u00a0force anything! \u00a0most good things happen slowly, \u00a0let yourself\u00a0enjoy\u00a0the feeling of those sinews\u00a0gradually\u00a0\u00a0stretching out; then run like hell to catch the bus.<\/p>\n
